Volunteering

Here is another reason I wish I could win the lottery. It would give me some more free time to be able to volunteer more at North East DuPage Special Recreation Association (NEDSRA). NEDSRA has been a part of our lives for the past 18 years. It has given my daughter Cari a place to experience playing sports, socializing and taking trips throughout the US. She is my sports nut - the other two showed some interest in a couple of sports but Cari has played softball, volleyball, floor hockey, tennis, bocce, basketball, track and at least one season of soccer. She has a yearly spring formal where one year she was crowned queen. She meets on occassional Fridays with her social group to see movies, go out to dinner, attend sports events or just hang out. She has traveled to Mt. Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, Boston, San Diego, and Colorado; probably other places that I just can't remember off the top of my head. I thank God for NEDSRA as it has given Cari experiences I don't think she would have had otherwise and that is also one of the reason I started volunteering there to give a little back to them. I have thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the other participants and as I said wish I had more free time to give. Some day when I win my $4 million.
