Where is that Magic Wand??

Many times I wish I had a magic wand to wave away all my children's worries and woes.  I am sad when they are sad.  I am hurt when they are hurt.  I hate that feeling of helplessness when you have to watch them experience the ups and downs in life and not be able to do anything to protect them from it.  I realize it is the way they learn as it is the way we ourselves had to learn but it is still not easy watching them go through the pains of growing up.  No matter how many times we share our own experiences and try to get them to learn from our mistakes, it seems they just have to learn it on their own.  All I can do is let them know that I am here to listen and give them moral support to get through those rough patches but most of all to make sure that they know how much I love them!!  You will always be my babies no matter how many years of experience you have.
