Another Day

Today was a good day. I got alot done at work and didn't have to stay late. Tomorrow afternoon I am leaving for the exec board meeting in Abingdon. Hopefully things will move along nicely and we won't get done too late on Saturday. I am carpooling with a couple of fellow board members.

Yd called tonight, first time she has called just to chat since we dropped her off at school on Tuesday. Since I won't be home most of the weekend I won't be able to get much done in the house. Tomorrow morning I will have to at least rinse all the blueberries and plums we got on the weekend and put them in the fridge before they go bad. I need to look for a blueberry butter recipe as my usual butter recipe didn't seem to work too well - not quite thick enough. If I can't find one I will just have to cook it some more to get rid of some more of the liquid. I thought about maybe adding some applesauce to thicken it up.

Had a nice long chat the other night with ds - he is considering looking into the rotc program to be able to go to school and get his degree. He says he would like to be a teacher although he is not sure if that will be possible due to the poor choices he had made the last couple of years. It is looking like he has learned from his mistakes. I keep hoping that he is turning a corner and will make something of his life. He is really a bright young man and it is sad to see him waste that intelligence. I sometimes wonder if it isn't what he sees his sister accomplishing that is motivating him somewhat as he could have had the same opportunities available to him as she has but he made different choices at the time.
