Exhausting Month

So far this has been an exhausting month and one I wish would come to an end quickly.  Each week has brought another bout of bad news and it is getting difficult to keep my spirits up!  At the beginning of the month we found out that my stepmother has been having some rare strokes that make her pass out and she has hit her head and developed a brain bleed.  She is now unable to live by herself as she can no longer walk unassisted.  She is/has moved in with her niece and will use either a cane, walker or wheelchair to get around.  At the moment we have been unable to get a hold of her to know exactly what is going on.  Calls have been unanswered :(

Last week started with a call from a dear friend who left a message that I only partially heard and then my phone cut out.  After finally connecting with her daughter - she changed facebook pages and I didn't know about it or I would have known what was going on sooner - I found out that she had tried to give up on life but the Good Lord was not yet ready to receive her so thankfully she is still with us.  As I was chatting with her at the beginning of this week getting the whole story of what was going on when I received a call from my sister-in-law.  I had started to ask her if I could call her back when it hit me that she sounded upset.  I told my friend I would call her back.  My sister-in-law then told me that my 47 year old brother was being rushed to the hospital as he was having chest pains.  At the time I did not know that he was in Little Rock for business and that is why she was so frantic!  They live near Milwaukee.  She didn't have my mom's phone number so I got a hold of my mom and got the two connected.  They then traveled down to Little Rock late Monday with a layover somewhere and made it on Tuesday right before they were taking my brother in for an angiogram. Results of the test were two blockages so now we wait for a double bypass tomorrow and 4 - 5 days of recuperation in the hospital before they are all able to come home.  In the meantime, I have taken in my stepsister who has Down Syndrome while my mom is away.  Roxann and Cari get along very well and Cari has been very helpful with things when I have to leave.

As I started out this is all very exhausting both physically and emotionally.  Oh yeah did I mention that I am also working on hemming 2 bridesmaid dresses and 1 wedding dress for the 25th!!  I did get the two bridesmaid dresses finished and now will concentrate on the brides gown for the next couple of days!  I also have a board meeting next weekend that I need to do some preparations for.  If I can just make it through the next couple of weeks and barring any other bad news I can take a little break to rejuvenate before gearing up for the NEDSRA Halloween Party and then Lombard Juniors Bistros Fundraiser and then Thanksgiving and then Christmas and then 2011!!  Oh My!
