Results from a Busy Weekend

Well the Garage Sale could have done better - don't know if it was because it was too hot or what??  We got rid of a few things but I think the one we will have in September will do much better as we will be doing at the same time as the Northlake City Wide Garage Sale.  Hopefully by then I will have a lot more stuff to put in.

Volunteering on Saturday was worthwhile.  It was Rockford's Annual Sharefest and Pella had a group work last Saturday and another group will be working this Saturday.  We worked at the Cherry Valley Elementary School.  Tim & I painted a small hallway and stalls in the 1st floor girls bathroom.  We worked until noon.  Sometime Friday I seemed to have caught the cold that Cari has had for the last week or so.  By the time we came home Saturday afternoon I was wiped out!  Right when we got home my sister called me from the Garage Sale and said they were going to close early as shoppers were sparse.  I really had no energy and was not feeling well so I told her that I really needed to take a nap before coming over.  As I went to go lay down, Meg came in and told me that she would be more than happy to go and man the garage sale if they didn't want to do.  I was quite surprised that she offered to do that.  I told her that it would just be helpful to me if she would go over and just help them pack up which she did without question.  It was one of those moments when you realize that your child is growing up! She was offering to do something without me having to ask I was very proud of her.

So anyway for the rest of the weekend I was dying.  I do not do sick very well. In the morning I felt okay but as the day wore on I just lost all energy.  I have a great husband so even though it was Father's Day he didn't complain when he ended up having to drive Cari to camp along with my mom and Roxann.  When he got back I didn't make him cook so we had Culver's instead.

With Cari gone it is going to be a very quiet week.  I hope I get to enjoy some of it not having to drive her here there and everywhere!!  Although I am not looking forward to spending Wednesday morning sitting in the Social Security Office!!  I have called their office twice and left a message to no avail and since I can't risk them stopping her checks I have to go to the office by Wednesday.  I will not be happy if I have to miss the afternoon at TLC Camp!  Oh the things we must do for our children.
